Wichelt (Permin/Jobelan)

We have a limited selection of Wichelt embroidery and cross stitch fabrics in stock, but will be building our collection over time as well as adding them here so you can order online. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with your requirements as we should be able to get any of their products for you. These are often referred to as Wichelt or Norden fabrics on patterns.

These fabrics come in 55" (140mm) widths, Therefore our "long" cuts are not the full width of the fabric, as you would expect in quilting.

Please note, it's wise to add 3" border to each side of your finished piece size, thus a 5" x 5" piece should really be stitched on a 11" x 11" piece of fabric. You can use less, particularly if you don't stitch in a hoop or frame (I don't, if the fabric is stiff enough, I just roll it up) and/or you don't intend to have it professionally framed. I would suggest that an absolute minimum is 2" per side or 4" overall.

Wichelt fabrics are imported from the US but we're trying to find a UK (cheaper) distributor.
